THE SAFARI DAY BY DAY

Day 1

You’ll be met by our friendly Tour driver guide (s) on arrival at Nairobi International Airport and taken to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time you can have different sightseeing in Nairobi or relax this first day in wonderful Africa.

Day 2, Nairobi – Lake Victoria Kisumu

After breakfast our safari starts by driving Northwest to Lake Victoria. Lake Victoria is one of the Africa great lakes. The lake was named after Queen Victoria by the explorer John Hanning Speke who was the first European to discover it. Speke accomplished this in 1858, while on an expedition with Richard Francis Burton to allocate the source of the River Nile. With a surface area of 68,800 square kilometres (26,600 sq mi), Lake Victoria is Africa's largest lake by area, and is also the largest tropical lake in the world. Quite number of birds is found within the lake.

Day 3, Full day in Kisumu

Today we have full day in and around Lake Victoria. We leave the hotel early in the morning and get in to the small boats to capture sun rise unbelievable experience as there is no place with more beautiful sun rise and sun set than Kisumu. The local guides and very well experienced ones from The Palicon Tours will take us on their boats and tell us about the life in and around the lake. The lake has been a victim of a huge environmental crime and the lakes future is very uncertain.

Day 4, Kisumu – Lake Baringo

After breakfast you join your safari driver and drive to Lake Baringo. The Lake Baringo is after The Lake Turkana in the most northern of the Kenyan Rift lakes, with a surface area of about 130 square kilometres (50 sq mi) and an elevation of about 970 metres (3,180 ft). It is one of the two fresh water lake in the Rift Valley in Kenya, the other being Lake Naivasha. It lies off the beaten track in a hot and dusty setting and over 470 species of birds have been recorded there, occasionally including migrating Flamingos.

Day 5, Full day in Lake Baringo

Today you have full day in Lake Baringo Island camp. There are a lot of activities in the island, like boat and bird walk excursions, water sports and sundowner on Lesukut Island, fishing, swimming and also entertainment by traditional dancers.

Day 6, Lake Baringo – Lake Bogoria

After breakfast we leave the island and drive to Lake Bogoria. It’s not a long drive so we leave by 10 am. On arrival we check in Lake Bogoria Spa Resort. It’s the only resort in Kenya with a naturally heated spa pool. In the afternoon game drive along the lake. Lake Bogoria is a saline, alkaline lake that lies in a volcanic region in a half- graben basin south of Lake Bogoria The lake is also famous for geysers and hot springs along the bank of the lake and in the lake. In four locations around the lake can be observed at least 10 geysers, which erupt up to 5 m high. Geyser activity is affected by the fluctuations of lake level, which may inundate or expose some geysers. Lake Bogoria also contains the highest concentration of true geysers in Africa at least 18 are known.

Day 7, Full day L. Bogoria

Today we have full day game viewing in this magnificent lake, with break for lunch time. At the beginning of Kenya’s great Northern Wilderness lies Lake Bogoria. The lake is the heart of an arid landscape, in the shadow of the dramatic walls of the Sirach Range, the soda waters of the lake attract massive flocks of Flamingo and the lake is often carpeted with pink. The 32 sq km lake is still volcanically active and the western shore is lined with spouting geysers, spurting steam and bubbling geothermal pools. Fresh water springs at the lake edge attract an abundance of birds and wildlife. There are many Fish Eagles, which often prey on the local flamingos. The shores are always lined with Gazelle, Zebra, Baboons and this is one of the best places to see Greater Kudu.

Day 8, L. Bogoria – L. Nakuru

After breakfast we depart from Lake Bogoria to Lake Nakuru. In Nakuru town we check in at Bontana Hotel, our lunch is served in the Hotel. There after we proceed to main gate to Lake Nakuru National park. Nakuru is the fourth largest city of Kenya and is situated 1858 m above the sea level. Lake Nakuru National Park is a salt-water lake and is the home of thousands of pink flamingos. You may also see the lion, zebra, wildebeest, giraffe, wide rhino and more than 400 spices of birds!

Day 9, Nakuru – Naivasha

After breakfast and check out we drive to Lake Naivasha and check in Sopa Lodge. After lunc we bird walk along the lake shore. Lake Naivasha is a freshwater lake in Kenya, outside the town of Naivasha in Nakuru County, which lies north west of Nairobi. It is part of the Great Rift Valley. The name derives from the local Maasai name Nai'posha, meaning "rough water" because of the sudden storms which can arise. The lake is home to a variety of types of wildlife including over 400 different species of bird and a sizeable population of hippos. The fish community in the lake has been highly variable over time, influenced by changes in climate, fishing effort and the introduction of invasive species.

Day 10, Naivasha – Nairobi

Morning breakfast followed by check out. The drive from Naivasha to Nairobi its not long. We arrive in Nairobi in good time for Lunch.
