Nairobi Mombasa Safari

East end tour starts by visiting very special National Parks. One of which is, Amboseli National Park that is found at the slopes of Africa's highest mountain Mt, Kilimanjaro. It is in this Park you will be greeted by herds of elephants, among other animals. Then you will travel down to the coast of Mombasa, whereby you will enjoy your stay in the most beautiful sandy beaches In the East Africa region. From Mombasa, it will take you to the largest park in the country Tsavo National Park.  Welcome!

THE SAFARI DAY BY DAY


DAY 1, Nairobi – Amboseli    

Your Safari driver meets you on arrival at the airport. He can assist you by changing your money into local currency before your tour commences. Your safari starts by driving south side to Amboseli National Park, with one or two stops on the way. You arrive in your lodge in time for lunch and check in. After lunch at 1600hrs, we drive in this beautiful national park that is famous for its stunning scenery with the 19,450 ft. Mt, Kilimanjaro dominating the view. The Park which is situated on the Kenya / Tanzania border is also known for its wildlife, especially the prolific elephant herds. The park covers an area of 3810 square km; the vegetation is varied but dominated by savannah. This allows viewing of the plain game ranging from Lion, Leopards, Cheetahs, Giraffes, and not forgetting hyenas.

DAY 2, Amboseli

Early morning game drive at 6.30am. Perhaps this is the good time for you to see cat families on their usual habits of hunting and killing. It is also good time to see Mt. Kilimanjaro with a snow cup on top. Returning back to your lodge for late breakfast. Part of the day is spend resting around the swimming pool, spar or at your veranda watching wild animals down in the swamp. Afternoon 4pm game drive up to sunset also a better chance for you to see more game.

DAY 3, Amboseli

This is the last day in this beautiful National park, game starts at 6.30 am. Perhaps this is the good time for you to see what you did not see in the other game drives. After breakfast you can choose either to visit a Maasai cultural centre, with game viewing to and from. (Extra cost for the visit 20 USD pp). The Maasai cultural centre you will be entertained by Maasai dancers. You will also visit their huts (houses). Or you can stay in your lodge - watching animals from your room as they feed from a short distance. It is a good distance for taking photograph. In the afternoon at 4pm the driver will take you for the last game drive in this famous park.

DAY 4 - 8, Amboseli – Reef Mombasa 5 Nights

After breakfast in your lodge drive from Amboseli to Emali at the junction of Nairobi Mombasa road. Proceed on and drive to Mombasa, at one point passing man eaters’ area. The reason why this area is known as Man eater is that, at the time of Kenya - Uganda railway line construction was going on, this area had a lot of lions. As they had killed many railway constructors, they were nicknamed Man eaters. Man-eater is a colloquial term for an animal that preys upon humans but they do not exist upto date. We will stop at the voi road side canteen for snacks, after that proceed on and arrive Mombasa late in the afternoon check in reef hotel. This is your Hotel where you are going to stay for three nights, booked on halfboard basis and all activities taking place from here.

Something you can do in Mombasa (Excursions are optional)  

Mombasa city is the second largest city in Kenya. The rich history dating back over 1500 years, started with the Portuguese explorer, Vasco Da Gama who landed in 1498 and established a Portuguese trade along the coast. Arabs from Oman later took over the city leaving their mark on the region dominated by vibrant Swahili culture. Therefore you will find World class beautiful Hotels and Beaches in both the North and South Coast. This is all well and good, but do not limit your options to sun and sand there’s a whole trial of adventure waiting to be enjoyed.


Mamba Village

You join your driver who will drive you to the largest crocodile farm in Africa mamba village. This farm has over 10,000 scaly reptiles on view in a fairly natural habitat. There is also a hatchery where you can see baby crocs hatch from eggs. Whatever you do, don’t miss the feeding time. After lunch you may spend the afternoon on the beach, or return back to the mamba village and enjoy horse or camel riding.


Cultural centre

At Bombolulu workshops and cultural centre you can watch artisans who make quality handcrafts, and view their products in the large showroom. You will also find carvings, jewellery, statues, and a wide range of clothing at a fair price.


Haller Park

Bamburi Nature trail now known as Haller Park is named after Rene Haller the agronomist who turned this barren area in to an ecological paradise. This area is rich in both wildlife and plants. Here you can see “Owen”, a baby Hippo rescued after a tsunami separated him from his family.


Fort Jesus

You can visit Fort Jesus, which was built by Portuguese in 1593. Fort Jesus is a popular destination for foreign and local tourists, researchers and students. Also on display are artefacts excavated from the underwater ship wreck of the “San Antonio de Tana” which sank in Mombasa harbour off Fort Jesus in 1697.


Wasini Island

Boat trip to Wasini Island and snorkelling/diving in the Indian Ocean. A fantastic trip! Expensive, but you will not forget that experience.



DAY 9, Mombasa – Severin Safari Camp

Check out from your hotel, is followed by joining your tour driver who will drive you from Mombasa to Severin Tented Camp. This is a luxurious camp where they serve you early morning tea/coffee in your veranda and you will just love your stay at this wonderful camp. At1600hrs you will proceed on afternoon game viewing returning to your camp for dinner and overnight. Night game viewing is optional with prior arrangements. DAY 10, SEVERIN – NAIROBI

Morning breakfast in your camp followed by check out then join your safari driver who will drive you out of Tsavo west National park with game viewing en route up to the Mtito a ndei gate, then up to the main road of Nairobi Mombasa highway. The drive to Nairobi may take five hours with lunch en route arriving in Nairobi in the afternoon.
