3 days Safari in Maasai Mara
The Maasai Mara natural park is the famous site for the Nature’s own annual spectacular events. In particular the Migration between August and October is the most fabulous to experience when the rolling plains of the Mara are flooded with more than a million wildebeest and thousands of zebras and Impalas. These enormous ranges of wild animals are searching for fresh new grass after the rains. Their dramatic river crossing and fight against the greedy crocodiles becomes reality for visitors. Game viewing is excellent and bird life is also profuse. The Maasai Mara is rated 7th wonder of the world.
THE SAFARI DAY BY DAY
DAY 1 – Nairobi – Maasai Mara
From Nairobi we are driving Northern direction and at one point through Italian road which was built in 1942 by the prisoners of world war. Here you will stop for a panoramic view and take photographs of the Great Rift Valley. Then we proceed up to town of Narok, stopping for fuel, toilet, and stretch our legs. From Narok we go through Loita plains on a rough road into Enkolong Tented Camp or Mara Simba lodge. Our camp is equipped with permanent tents with ordinary beds, water toilets and outdoor-shower. After lunch our plan includes an afternoon game drive in this fantastic park where you are almost guaranteed to see big five; Lion, Cheetah, Rhino, Elephant and Buffalo.
Accommodation: Enkolong camp or Mara Simba lodge
Meal plan: Lunch and dinner
DAY 2 - full day in Maasai Mara
Today will be a full day game drive in The Maasai Mara Game Reserve. You will have a picnic-lunch in the wilderness. We will visit the border mark between Kenya and Tanzania and you will be so close to the border that you can step into Tanzanian side. You will see the Mara River with hippos and crocodiles. The Maasai Mara Game Reserve has the largest concentration of animals in Kenya and in the northern part of the Tanzanian Serengeti National Park. Through the night you may hear the sounds of the wild animals, sounding close to the camp. However, they never become uninvited guests.
Accommodation: Enkolong Tented Camp or Mara samba lodge
Mealplan: Breakfast, picnic-lunch and dinner
DAY 3 – Nairobi
Today we will have a very early breakfast – at 5.30am because we want to be in the park to see the sunrise, a glorious event! After a morning Game drive we will check out from the park at around 10am. Then proceed on and return to Narok town.
After a short stop we proceed to Nairobi and drive direct to Karen Blixen farm arriving around 3pm. After seeing the museum and the Kazuri beads factory we end this wonderful Safari with dinner at Karen Coffee garden. Your driver will take you to your hotel after dinner.
Mealplan: Breakfast and picnic-lunch.
