Nairobi – Samburu – Sweetwaters – Treetops – Nairobi

This safari takes you to three different National parks in Northern side of Kenya: Samburu Game Reserve, Treetops and Sweetwaters in Ol Pajeta Ranch.  Sweetwaters is the place regarded as the Host to all the members of the ‘Big Five' (elephant, rhino, lion, buffalo and leopard). THE SAFARI DAY BY DAY

DAY 1, Nairobi – Samburu

Your safari starts after breakfast by driving at a distance of 320 km to Samburu Game Reserve. From Nairobi you drive via Thika through ananas and coffee plantations and other small scale farmers. You will have a stop at the Equator line at Nanyuki town near Mt. Kenya. Here you will see water demarcation in a jar in order to point where the exact Equator line passes.  After lunch in Samburu Lodge followed by short siesta up to 4pm, you will go for afternoon game drive up to 6.30pm.

DAY 2, Samburu , full day

Today you have full day in Samburu game reserve with two game drives. One game drive before breakfast and the second in the afternoon. Day time you will stay in the lodge where they have facilities like, Swimming pool, etc.

This area is semi arid area and the climate is hot during day time. There is a wide variety of animals and bird life. The Ewaso Ng’iro River which passes through the park contains a large numbers of Nile crocodiles.  Rhino is the only member of big five family that is not found in Samburu.

DAY 3, Samburu – Mt. Kenya Sportsman’s Lodge

This day we are saying bye to Samburu and drive to Nanyuki after breakfast. We drive through the park and we stop to take photos to any seen animal of our interest. Then we proceed to Sweetwaters Camp in   Mt. Kenya region. After lunch we go for an afternoon game drive

DAY 4, Full day in Sweetwaters Camp

Here you have  two game drives one in the morning before breakfast and the second one after lunch. This is the only place in Kenya where you can visit Chimpanzee cage and see them in a short range. You are also able to see all the big five family in this Ol Pajeta Ranch.

DAY 5, Sweetwaters – Treetops

After breakfast we drive to Out Span Hotel for Treetops Lodge. Outspan is a reception to Treetops in Aberdare’s Mountain. After check in the Hotel transport will take you to Aberdare’s Mountain. it was literally built into the tops of the trees in Aberdare National Park as a treehouse, offering the guests a close view of the local wildlife in complete safety. The idea was to provide a machan (hunting platform in a tree used when hunting animals) in relative safety and comfort. From the original modest two-room tree house, it has grown into 50 rooms.

DAY 6, Treetops Lodge – Nairobi

Today you are going to have early morning tea or coffee at Treetops, then join Hotel transport and drive back to Outspan Hotel for a full breakfast. Then join your driver who will take you to the grave yard of Lord Baden Powell. He was the founder of the Scout movement and when he died he was buried here according to his wishes. After that short visit, you drive back to Nairobi arriving good time for lunch.
