Kenya & Uganda Safari


This is a real adventures safari. It will take you across the mountains and hills, across the valleys and rivers, and more important across human being and wildlife. The Masai Mara it is famous for its exceptional population of lions, leopards, and cheetahs and the annual migration of zebras, Thomson gazelle and wildebeest to and from Serengeti every year, known as great migration. Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable National Park provides habitat for some 120 species of mammals, 348 species of birds, 220 species of butterflies, 27 species of frog, chameleons, geckos and many endangered species, Gorilla being one of them.

Itinerary overview

THE SAFARI DAY BY DAY


1 night – Nairobi – Masai Mara

Your safari starts in Nairobi and you will be picked at the airport or in your hotel. After breakfast our trip starts from the guesthouse at 7.30am and drive Northern direction. At one point after turning to Northwest we will drive along historical road (Italian Road) build by Italian prisoners of 2nd world war. (1939 – 1945) . Through Escarpment in the corridors of Great Rift Valley, we will drive across it and stop at Narok Town for refreshments.


From Narok town we will drive through Loita Plains, on the way to Masai Mara. Our camp is equipped with permanent tents with ordinary beds, water toilets and outdoor shower. After lunch our plan includes an afternoon game drive in this fantastic park where you are almost guaranteed to see big five; Lion, Cheetah, Rhino, Elephant and Buffalo. 


4 nights in Masai Mara

All the Four nights we will be staying in Enkolong Tented Camp booked on full board basis. We will be having full day game drives in this expansion Mara reserve with picnic lunch boxes. It is almost guaranteed to see all big five during that stay in Masai Mara.

3 nights in Kisumu and Lake Victoria

Today the drive is long, and we leave the camp at 7am with packed lunch boxes and drive back to Narok town. After stopping for fuel we proceed on and drive through small and large tea plantations in Kericho area. We will have our picnic lunch along the way, and then proceed on arriving Nyanza Club early in the afternoon. This is the place we are going to stay for 3 Nights. 


In Kisumu you will go on Lake Excursion to see wonderful sunrise, hippos and bird life. You can also visit Kakamega rain forest, the biggest rain forest in Africa, and the Kitmikay - the shrine rock. Accompanied with Daniel and Tom from Palicon – you have the best guides and they will guide you into learning Luo culture and tradition.

1 night in Kampala, Uganda

After a weeks adventure in Kenya we are ready to start our journey up to Uganda for Gorilla trip. Mt Gorilla lives in Bwindi Forest near border to Rwanda and we need a stopover in Kampala. From Kisumu to Kampala it is 350 km.

3 nights in Bwindi forest to track the gorillas

After breakfast we start from Kampala and drive southwest across the Equator. We drive through savannah grasslands seeing banana plantations and herds of Ankole cattle with their incredibly long curving horns. We then ascend into the Kigezi highlands, known as the "Switzerland of Africa", with terraced farming and mountain scenery. Drive through to Bwindi. (about 10 hrs drive).


The next morning, after an early breakfast and a briefing by a ranger guide, enter the gorilla sanctuary for your adventure. The beauty of this rain forest is spectacular. The area offers dramatic steeply forested landscape and is incredibly dense, but criss-crossed by numerous animal trails allowing access to tourists. The time taken and the terrain vary with the movements of these great primates. The thrill of spending time observing these gentle and endangered giants is an awesome, exciting experience to be long savoured. Many find it to be a rare and moving opportunity.

1 night in Kampala stop over

Transfer back to Kampala. As you drive back to Kampala you will have chance to see the beautiful landscape of Ankole people and their beautiful long horned cattle. Mostly they prefer their cattle to be red in colour.  They believe red colour is a symbolic of victory.

1 night Kampala – Naivasha

From Kampala we drive all the way back to Kenya and down to Naivasha. This will be the last place to visit in this Adventure Safari. This day Lunch is not included in the program, you will have your lunch on the way at a place of your choice.

Naivasha – Nairobi

Today is the shortest distance to drive on this Adventure tour, from Naivasha to Nairobi the drive takes about 2 hrs. According to your flight arrangements you will start driving back to Nairobi on your own time of your choice. On arrival in Nairobi, driver will drop you to the airport for your international flight back home.
